Champions

Butterfly with stings. =)

[Me & my die hard girls.]

[Short briefing before the match. Guess who's not paying attention. Haha! =)]
[Still find this picture funny ler. HAHA. I'm either doing a very good fake, or I miss the ball terribly. =)]
[Most Valuable Player. Not too sure if I deserve it. But thank you Nomad. =)]
For those who didn't return home with a medal, remember that each wrist/drag/slap shot you take, brings you closer to being champions. Keep fighting the good fight and dream big. Some day it will be yours.

You can't put a limit to anything. The more you dream, the further you get.

Blog comes to life!!

I know.. I know.. it's been a long while. =)
Let me see, 4 months?? No wonder I see spiderwebs all over my blog. HAHA. =)
I really miss blogging though. I've been too caught up with so many things that I totally neglected it. And guess what? I'm actually doing this in the midst of my exam period. Hehe.
Just sat for two major papers yesterday, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Imagine that. =/ Didn't do too well though. Sigh..
But well, exams are about giving your best and leaving the rest to God. Because He knows your effort. =) CK told me that.

Alright..a little update about myself. =)
1. I'm still in KK, Sabah. The most beautiful place ever. Especially if you love beaches and chops (Lamb chop, chicken chop, pork chop, cat chop..Oooops. Hehe. No cats. No cats.)
[See what I mean. Clear water. Blue sky. Sandy beaches. Paradise.]

Picture curi-ed from KarYee. =P

2. Still crazy over floorball. It is off season currently. We just finished our Nomad League as 1st runner ups. But I believe Nomad will keep on fighting and gold shall be ours next year. =)
So since it's off season, Coach Shawn has been treating us with very NICE killers every week. I had to walk like a penguin every time training ends. I call them tofu legs now. =)
[Nomad with their titanium medals]

3. My house has a new cat! Pretty cute. We all thought it was a she but it was actually a he. Now I know why it likes me so much. =P

4. I've been using alot of "LOL" lately instead of my usual "Hahahaha". What's happening to me. =]

5. Did my performance for the very last time in university. I am very sure it's the last time. And it was great. =) Ahhh..memories.
[That's me. The glowing one. LOL. See see. The LOL again. & not forgetting, Kevin. My duet partner.]

[Kevin got me this as an appreciation gift. Thank you Kevin. =)
The last time someone gave me flowers was on Mother's Day. -.-" I really wonder what that person was thinking.]

6. And finally somebody came all the way down from Penang just to see me which is a lie. She's here for the beach only. =D Heheeee. It was nice to have a chance to show KarYee around beautiful KK. More pictures in the next post. =)

That's it for now I guess. =) Wonder if anyone's gonna read this. Hmmm. After all, it's been such a long time. =]

My first goalie tryout

Gearing up!

Theory - Listening to Leonard.

Practical - Grab some balls!!! X)

-eeleen-

It was pretty fun la. Except for the part where I had sore knees and sore elbows for the next few days. =( Still prefer being a field player, 'cause I get to run and wack balls. Hahahahahaha!!!
And running makes me feel GOOD!
Running's addictive. =)

Experience with Team Unihoc Penang

Last week, Nomads Floorball Club had the privilege to host Team Unihoc Penang when they made their debut in Sabah. It was a two-day thingy with short matches and clinics on the first day; and on the second, Team Unihoc played against the newly formed and also Team Butterfly (Nomads' ladies team).
And needless to say, Team Unihoc was good both in skills and physical strength, though outnumbered.
Lessons on play-ups

Coach Edward telling us how to be a screener & how to deal with one.

Second day: Team Unihoc warming up

Team Unihoc Penang (in black) vs Sabah state team (in white)

Face off!!!

End of game. Don't really remember the score but both played well.=)

Team Butterfly warming up. See me not?!?!? #39 =)

Team Unihoc Penang (in blue) vs Team Butterfly (in black)

From left to right: Ming Hooi, Lavinia, Eeleen, Jenn, Kuan Yang

3,2,1 Team Butterfly!!!

Me during penalty shoot out - And I scored! X)

Final briefing.

Then we had makan-makan in the evening at Madalen's house.
Awesome food, awesome fellowship! =)

Nah, there's Madalen! =) Our tai kah che.

Butterfly feet - smelly ones I would say. Hahahahaha!!! X)

And obviously this is Jenn and Lala, trying to prove themselves worthy of the nice food - by helping to clean up the mess. But as a witness's point-of-view....
NAHHHHHH!!! :P hahahahahahahah!!!

Played Partini after dinner. And one thing I know for sure, the guys are really bad in this game. XP Sorry...just being honest. X)

Kawan-kawan sekalian yang nak support aku & jenn konon - sebernarnya nak datang tengok leng chai saja. Ish!!! ><

And these two are our awesome goalies...
Leonard (future national goalie - the Malaysian flag behind is a sign!) X)

& so is Felix, in his catstand position - who did alot of awesome saves when the "wall of defense" fell apart! =)

Thank you Team Unihoc for the great experience and fun!
See you soon! =)
And as of Nomads FC, lets polish up our skills and be better floorballers!!!

7km Charity Run

The last time I did a half marathon was like.. err.. 3 years ago? :s So it kinda freaked me out when Shawn-my NFC (Nomads Floorball Club) coach asked me to sign up for it.
But oh well, it turned out just fine. =) See??
This was taken after all of us had finished.

I ran/walk with Jenn 'cause I promised to stick with her no matter what. And we finished in 45 minutes which I think is something to be proud of. Especially for Jenn. It's her 1st run! =)
Jenn getting ready for the run. =)

=))))

After the run, I realized that 7km ain't "significant enough" compared to the distance I run on court during floorball. Shawn was right after all. =) And I didn't needed to stop for water.
In fact, Jenn said this after 1/2 cup of 100plus at one of the stops:
"Shouldn't have drank so much 100plus, it made my tummy sick." =)

So here are some things that I've learn from this run:
1. Concentration
In a marathon, all you have to do is concentrate on finishing the race FAST. Do not think of the pain in your muscles nor the pain under your feet. Tell yourself once you finish, the pain will be gone.

2. Breathe properly
There's a difference between belly breathing and chest breathing. I used to feel pain and stress in my lungs after strenuous exercises but it rarely happens now. Because I've learn to breathe properly.
Check THIS out, it might help if you do have the same problem as I used to. =)

3. Body position
Never look at your feet when you run (though Lavinia aka Lala says that doing that makes you feel as if you're running faster. Haha). 'Cause looking down makes it hard to breathe and furthermore, the bible says this:

I lift up my eyes to the hills- Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip -
He who watches over you will not slumber;
Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you
The LORD is your shade at your right hand;
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm -
He will watch over your life;
The LORD will watch over your coming and going
Both now and forevermore.

-Psalm 121-

So why look down when you're tired, out of breath, feeling as your legs are gonna break very soon? Lift up your head when you run. BUT of course you have to watch where you're going and what's on the floor every now and then la. Later you trip over a big stone and lose your two front teeth susah le...Hahahahaha. =)

4. Don't push yourself too hard
If you're feeling really really really tired and as if you're about to faint, just slow down. Do not stop immediately. Gradually slow down your pace but keep moving.

Everybody has a limit. It is important that you know yours.

more updates =)

well, basically i had a busy but interesting week. =) so, here it goes...

# Tuesday

Dad received the card I sent him. And i know he likes it and he's happy. I can hear it in his voice. =)
Happy birthday daddy!! =)

and Yes! My dad is sooooo cute!!!=) hahahaha!

# Wednesday
We celebrated my friend/coursemate's - yifui's birthday. She's a rather shy girl so didn't get to take much of her picture.
But oh well, we got her a box of ice-cream with candles on it instead of the same old boring cake, and she liked it. So did everybody else. =)
(thanks to the person who came up with the awesome idea which is - ME! muahahahaha.)

See...told you everybody liked it. =) btw, yifui's the one in black polo t.:)

Then we went shopping for her birthday present. Went to FOS and got her 4 tshirts and put it in a cow + alien gift box. =)
(no picture to show ya. hehe. sorrrrrrrryyyyy.)
After that, i guess we were to stressed out by months of labwork, assignments, lectures, quizes, exams, and the list goes on... So we decided to go to BuBu Land. It's a mini arcade. haha.

I liked the water rafting game. It's like super super funny!!!=D hahahaha.
I remember laughing so much that i nearly drop dead on the floor.
Okay. i'm just exaggerating. but it's really funny okay...=)

Alright. That's it for wednesday. =)

# Saturday
Jenn and i woke up at 5.30am and headed to uni. early right? 'Cause we went on a trip to a mushroom farm!!! =)
Unfortunately, we were appointed to sit in a van instead of a bus. And the van driver was driving as if he's in a F1 race or something. Gilaaaa!!! thank God no one puked and i'm still alive to write you this post. =)

These are some of the shrooms that we saw:
Shitake
(the usual mushroom that we eat), ling zhi, and the oyster mushroom. =)

This is how you differentiate an edible mushroom from an inedible one:
1. The inedible ones are usually colorful and very attractive
2. They turn the color of your knife (the blade) from silver to grey or black when you cut it
3. No bugs or animals will go near it
4. You die once you eat it (HAHAHAHA!!!)

Isn't this tree cute?! it's in the shape of a mushroom!=)
that includes you jenn. yes, you.=)

=P

Btw, we stopped at some place for the drivers to rest and we were able to get a real good view of KK mount. =)
It looks so near that i feel like flying towards it. =)

Well, we had fun at the mushroom farm. Learn quite alot, such as mushrooms are not grown on the ground (industrially la...), they are grown in p'p' bags. Wanna know what a p'p' bag is?
Go online and find la! hahaha. :P

# Sunday
It's easter!

Well, easter is not really about bunnies and eggs.
But because HE lives, that i can face tomorrow. =)

Thank you Jesus. For dying on the cross for me.

Then came afternoon - Nomads floorball league.

Hmm...i'm not gonna tell you about the game. Whether it's fair or not, i'm not gonna comment. But i had fun and experience. That's the most important thing. =)

That's me. #39. in a match against Reloaded.

thumbs up for team Nomads!!!=)

me, lavinia aka lala, and shania. hehe. Try to find shania!!

And i got a chance to take a pic with Sydney. isn't he cute?! haha.=)
(too bad he's too young. :P)

Well, that's all for now. Will write again soon. =)
