A Letter to Myself

Dear Eeleen,

I hope you're reminded that the fact that you've come this far could only mean one thing:
That you're special and you're meant for something great.
Remember how many times you've cried? Remember all the times you've felt like you can't go on anymore?
Remember how you've got your heart broken so many times and didn't understand how can life be so unfair?
And the bazillion times you've failed yourself and those who love you? Failures after failures, mistakes after mistakes. And do you remember how often you told yourself that this would be the last time you'd screw up and realize that it's just a lie you tell yourself?

But look at you today, Eeleen. You're still here. Still pushing on. Still fighting. Still believing.
That's how it should be.
Life ain't a bed of roses. It ain't all smooth like pure yoghurt.
Things happen. Sh*t happens. Circumstances change. We meet people who drive us up the wall. And some eventually break our hearts though we gave them everything we have.

But remember one thing, the harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph. Everything you go through is a story that could help someone someday. Every mistake and teardrop is a lesson learnt. Or like how some people like to put it, there is no mistake. Everything happens for a reason.
I believe that one can only understand if he or she has gone through it and come out of it with victory. How can you understand someone who felt hopeless if you've not been at that state before? And how can you say you've loved someone, if you haven't been at the situation where his/her happiness is the most important thing, even if it means letting them go?

Keep believing, Eeleen. Have a leap of faith. His mercy and grace is always sufficient.
So don't give up. When things get tough, look up. Your strength comes from above.
Do what you love, Eeleen. Don't let the world define you. Don't let them kill your dreams and destroy your passion. I know you feel scared sometimes. It's normal to be afraid. It shows that you're human and it gives you a chance to have faith.
And you deserve to be happy. Don't settle for less, or good enough. Your heavenly Father wants you to have the best of everything in life. So why settle for anything less than that, silly?
Be patient and wait. Let it be His time, His will, His way.
Til then, always believe.
"A quarter of a century year old now". HAHA. But to be honest, it's just a number. Yes, it comes with responsibilities. But it doesn't mean you have to be all serious and boring. Be young at heart. Be crazy if you have to. As long as you don't get anybody killed, or break any biblical laws. ;)

And ALWAYS..always remember to appreciate those who have been there through thick and thin. Life is short. Make sure you remember to tell them about how you feel before they're gone. You'll never know when. Regretting over something you didn't do or could have done, it the worst feeling one can feel. Don't ever let that happen. Once again, Happy Birthday. :)

Love,
Eeleen

Happy birthday Eeleen! and yes, you've done your best in everything and anything. Keep on going, and don't look back. The bumpy roads are going to change, and your ride is about to get more and more pleasant. Lets go through the storm together. I understand that yours might be different than mine, but lets get in the same boat, and paddle through the rough seas together. And, you can always lean on Him. He will answer, when you call.

'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.' ~Isaiah 41:10
