Adulthood

I hate being a grown up.
There's no space for imagination. There's no space for silliness.
You get questioned for your motive when all you have to offer is genuine kindness.
There's no such thing as being yourself.
And there is definitely no space for mistakes.

Why is adulthood so complicated...?
My simple, naive, little mind and soul have problem coping with all these.
*Help*

P/s: Sometimes I wonder why I put in so much effort to communicate with people who doesn't even bother to talk to me. =(

Should She Stay Or Should She Go

I was driving to work this morning, and as usual I switched on the radio to listen to Mix FM. And they always have this program known as "Should I Stay Or Should I Go". Basically, if you have a dilemma about whether you should stay or move on in a situation, you can just call up and talk to JD and Dilly and they'll try to get you advices from the audiences.

So today, this lady called up and mentioned her situation, that she's been separated from her husband for a year. And within that year, she met this new guy. At first it was just a fling, and after that, it got serious. And when she thought it's time to move on, the husband came back and said he wants to work things out. So now she's kinda stuck in between, deciding whether to try to work things out with the husband or just move on with the new guy.

What surprises me was this, out of 10 audiences who called to give their point of view, 10 asked her to move on. I mean, logically, yes, you should move on if you're not happy in a relationship...but my question is this:
Does anyone still respect and understand the meaning of marriage? What happened to marriage covenants? What happened to "Til death do us part"?

I guess many of us would try to tell ourselves that we all have the rights to be happy.. and I don't deny the truth about it. Who doesn't want to be happy right? But marriage is not a game. It's not something you give up easily just because you're unhappy about it.
Ask any married couple, are their relationship always smooth sailing? Is it always easy? I'm sure each and every one of them would give you a 100% "No" for an answer.

To the lady who called in this morning, if you're reading this, my advice may be slightly different from the rest of the audience. To be honest, if you were not married, I would say, MOVE ON!! But in your case, try to work things out. You married him for a reason, find back that reason and give yourself another chance to fall in love again. Good things don't come easily, it may be hard, but it'll be worth it someday. I'm not saying that it'll work out for sure, but at least you try. And you'll never regret when you've tried your best.
All the best. :)

Commitment

If it's easy, then it's not commitment.
Whether it's your commitment towards your spouse or partner; or commitment towards your work, family, floorball, church ministry etc.
They all require time, effort and sacrifice.

Commitments were never meant to be easy.
Which is why God has given us the grace to pull through. :)

Get A Life: 1UP

It only took me 3 weeks of working to realize how working can really drain the life out of you.

You're tied down for at least 9 hours a day, and at the end of the day you're probably so tired, you don't have the energy for friends and sport activities. You probably don't even spend time talking to your parents or partners. It's unacceptable and awful! :(

So if you realize by now you're one of these people, go get a life. :) Either you do something to spice up your life or add a little something into your busy schedule.
Find time to meet friends, do a movie marathon, hang out with your siblings or parents, go running, join the gym and meet people. Something. Anything. Rather than you live a boring, ritual and draggy life. Not exactly the kind of life God has installed for any of us.

Even Mario needs his mushroom for an extra life when the game sucks the juice out of his life. :)

Working Life

The adults were right about one thing. Studying is always better than working!! :(

Well, I'm not complaining about my current job. My first one really did suck though. It only lasted me 2 weeks. Heheheheee. I'm probably the only one among my friends who has change 2 jobs after working for only 2 months. :P Haha!

I'm still in the initial phase of working, still adapting. I don't know if this is what I want to do for long term; I don't really know what I like or prefer; I don't know if the job suits me; I don't even know if I like my colleagues. Everything just feels "bland and boring". Is there something wrong with me?? :/
Sigh.

I don't feel excited to go to work (I presume nobody does, HAHA); but I don't feel dreadful that I have to go to work every morning too. It just feels like something I HAVE TO DO. That's how I define work for now.

However, I'm glad I'm into sales and marketing. :)
I remember telling my parents that I don't want to do sales (with utmost certainty), but I came to realize that if a person can survive in sales line, you'd probably have a higher chance of succeeding in life. 'Cause everything you do in life involve sales.
When you go for interviews, you promote yourself;
When you go dating, you promote yourself;
When you go buy fish in the market, you negotiate price with the fishmonger;
When you meet your future in laws for the first time, you do your best to make them like you and accept you.
S.A.L.E.S.
Plus, all the great businessman or pioneers of various industries that we know started off doing sales too: The late Steve Jobs, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet and even our very own Tony Fernandes!! :)

I'm not saying that if you're in IT line or doing admin you won't succeed in life. No no..:) It's just me, and what I believe for now. :)
