Hope VS Expectations

I was talking to my cousin that day, and my cousin mentioned this:
"Every time I put my hopes up, I get disappointed at the end."
I replied immediately, that Hope doesn't disappoint. Expectation does. :)

I've not lived as long as a 50 or 60 year old has. I'm not as wise as an owl either. But I've been through enough, to be able to differentiate the two. :)

Expectations.
They are usually unhealthy. Why..?
Because in your mind, you have an idea of how it's supposed to be. Based on your own opinion, you picture it. And because of that, many times, we box God up. We think that, this is how God is gonna do it, this is how God is gonna make it work for me. It has to be this, because it's how I like it.
Expectations are usually conditional too. It has to be like that, if not I'll be unhappy. And before you realized, it's all about me, me and me.
It becomes selfish. And when on earth do you ever see selfishness together with happiness...? Never.
And when that something that is expected doesn't come through, you feel like it's the end of the world.

William Shakespeare was right - Expectations is the root of all heartaches.

But when Hope steps in, it's a whole different story. :)
Jeremiah 29:11 says,
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

With Hope, you know there is a future. Despite how crushed and broken your dreams are, Hope keeps you moving forward. Because there is a better future. One only God knows. For He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you. There is something ahead of you that is worth fighting and keep living for.
Hope, keeps you alive. :)

Kuching, Sarawak (Part 2)

#4. Sarawak Cultural Village

Finally, some outdoor photos!!! :)
The Sarawak Cultural Village near Santubong. We get to see how Rumah Bidayuh, Rumah Iban, Rumah Penan and their interior looks like. 50 families living in one long house without doors. Errrrrr. Imagine you were doing some "night activity" with your spouse and your neighbour walks pass. HAHAHAHAHA. Awkwarddddd. I just cannot imagine. Lol.

 [Part of their traditional clothes]
[Don't you just love the colors..? :)]
[Old school cloth making process. Thank God for machines nowadays.]
 [Sapeh]

 [Fresh pepper!!]

#5. Fairy Cave
It is said that the Fairy Cave takes its name from a stalagmite structure at the entrance of the cave, which resembles a Chinese deity.
I say that some dude must have got really drunk, entered this cave and mistaken the bats as fairies. HAHAHA. I don't know much about stalagmite, rocks or stones. But this cave is a beauty. And the air is so fresh and cooling. :)
[Zoel and I :)]
[The road... everybody has to take to get into the cave laaaa.]
 [I see the light....]
I must have scrape my fingers on one of the rocks, and carried moss/bacteria/virus in my nails. And ate without washing my hands properly. 'Cause I suffered from a very very very bad food poisoning after that. Vomit, diarrhea, nausea, headache, chills. Please listen to your parents when they ask you to wash your hands before each meal. No joke. -.-

It was a good business trip. And I really have to thank God for good colleagues. :) Not perfect ones, but through them, God taught me how to be patient, efficient and to have a big heart.

Til we meet again, Kuching. :)

Kuching, Sarawak (Part 1)

I was in Kuching, Sarawak last month for meeting/training. And I have to say, my company really does treat its employees pretty well. THANK YOU BAYER HEALTHCARE! It has been an amazing two years with you. :) As this was a business trip, I was stuck inside the hotel and its main ballroom for trainings most of the time. Even dinner was pre-arranged, so there wasn't any chance for local street food or much sight seeing. :( But I'll share whatever and wherever I've been okay? :)

#1. Pullman Hotel, Kuching
Pullman Kuching - 5 star hotel. Super nice wei I tell you. The toilet is twice the size of my bathroom. And the housekeeping service - EXCELLENT! Whatever we needed, after calling the room service number, they appear in less than 1 minutes. Like got teleporting power. Haha.
Love the gym, love the swimming pool, love the rooms.
 [Pullman Kuching, Sarawak]

But then the food is abit..... Heh. No comment. Probably because I'm from Penang. But I'm usually the kind who doesn't complaint much about food. But this time.... Heh. No comment. Mix FM taught me not to complaint about people's food on my blog. :P I shall be a good girl.
[At least the the ice-cream is good. :P]

#2. White Rajah Residence
Sir James Brooke's previous home. If you don't know who James Brooke is you were probably dreaming in Malaysian history class. BAD STUDENT. :P
We had dinner there. Food catered by Hilton Hotel. So once again, no street food. But the ice carving was pretty impressive. Hehe.

#3. The Junk Restaurant
This is one cool hang out place!!! :) The decor was awesome, unique interior, service was excellent, great atmosphere and most important of all... GOOD FOOD. My colleagues and I only tried their lamb shank and salmon. Perfecto! ;)
 [Love the red lanterns!]

Penang Floorball League 2014

All good things come to an end. So did Penang's most prestigious floorball league - the PFL 2014 Division 1 and Women's Division League. :) It has been a long and stressful 8 weeks, yet an exciting one. It was amazing to watch the younger players step up; to see how much the pace and intensity of the games have increased; especially the level of skills among players. Fuhhh. :) I'm very proud and happy to witness how far Penang Floorball have come, and it is a privilege to be playing with/against them at this moment of time. And I'm pretty sure the games will only get better from now on.

And yes, did you hear about SWAT being the only team to beat the 2014 Women's League Champion Innebandy?!?
You haven't?!? You must be joking.
HAHAHA. :) Final score was 6-1. A well deserved win by the SWAT girls. Only if All Star Goalie Michaela was around. It would have been even more interesting. Still, I would like to extend a warm congratulations to the Champions of Penang Women's League - Innebandy, for securing gold for 2 years consecutively. :) And of course, Congratulations to SWAT, for being the 1st Runner up and winning game after game miraculously. LOL.

[All Star Left Forward]

My All Star Left Forward medal. :) Used to be so big, now it seemed so small as I held it in my hands. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that it meant nothing to me. I'm thankful, happy and proud. But I also realize there are so much more to play for besides this little medal. :) For example, PEOPLE!!!
[Watching these girls grow and improve has been nothing but amazing!]

[Friends. On and off court. :) *Ignore those behind.* Haha.]

[A BIGGGG thank you to a great mentor and friend, for entrusting me with the vision to grow Penang Women's Floorball. And for believing in me when I doubted myself.]

[Usually I don't have to bend down to take pictures but have to accommodate these shorties. HAHAHA.]

Kryptonite

I wish it didn't have to be this way.
It's sad how you were once my best friend,
but now you're like toxic in my blood stream.
I've had enough of your hurtful words.
And I hate how I always feel so inadequate, stupid, crushed, weak and low
when I'm around you.

I don't deny my mistakes.
For all I've wronged you, please do forgive me.
But I'm walking towards the sun now.
Like how Superman flies towards the sun to increase his power.
I just need to find, the better part of me.

"It may sound absurd, but don't be naive,
Even heroes have the right to bleed.
I may be disturbed but won't you concede,
Even heroes have the right to dream.
It's not easy to be me." - Superman, Five for Fighting
