10 Things Not To Give A Guy

I know many of you girls LOVEEEEE SHOPPING and I know you love buying things for your boyfriends, fathers, brothers or guy friends when a special occasion or some celebration season arrives.
But here's the thing: Guys are not like us. You cannot expect them to like the things we like. So STOP buying them things you love. It's their gift. Not yours. Hello...

And never believe that statement when they say "I'll like whatever you give me.". Well, I'm not saying they don't mean it, but most of the time, they're just being nice and polite to avoid hurting us. :)
Of course it'll be easier if we know their preference, but just in case there aren't any, or worse, what they want is too expensive that you cannot afford for now, these are 10 things NOT to buy for a guy. Unless you want them to just stuff the gift somewhere and forget about it in 10 minutes time. :)

1. Necklace
Most guys don't grow up wearing necklace, so for them to suddenly put something heavy around their neck is rather uncomfortable. Unless they're already wearing one, or they've been eyeing for one for quite some time, it's not really advisable.
If you still have to buy one for them, make them wear it for health purposes, like the Phiten titanium bands.

And please don't buy them choker necklaces. Unless you want to choke them to death laaa. Haha. :)

2. Sexy undies
Pls pls pls. Some undies may look really hot and sexy on those sexy models and shirtless hunks on magazines and underwear boxes, but the truth is they may feel rather uncomfortable! Know the cutting and type of fabric your man or guy friend prefers. We can be rather fussy about our undies, so can they. :)
[I wouldn't want a strap over my bum like this.]
[Tight boxers are good looking, but not many guys like the feel of it.]

3. Fat, bulky wallets
Men prefer their wallets to be slim and light because they have to carry them around in their pockets. Best if it's a pure leather wallet. 'Cause leathers are rather soft, and leather wallets can be slid in and out of pockets easily. Plus, leather means quality. Who doesn't want quality goods right? ;)
And guys, please stop using those wallets with Velcro closure after the age of 12? Please...? =.="
[Even if it's a Quick Silver brand velcro wallets - still a no no.]

4. Couple keychain
It may seem cute to us girls, but not so for the guys. I'm very sure each time I give Shawn a keychain, he's scratching his head where to hang it. HAHA! :) But some are just too cute I had to buy for him! Okay..I'm contradicting myself now. LOL.

5. Plush toys
I guess I don't have to explain why. Next!

6. Custom made mug with your picture on it, for him to put in the office
Unless he cannot live one day without seeing your face. Pffffft.
Imagine what his colleagues are gonna say about him, and worse, about you!! So please, save yourself from that kind of embarrassment. Just edit his phone wallpaper and put a picture of you, that'd be good enough. :)

7. Decorative accessories!!!
Most guys don't care about how their rooms look like.
You give them a table lamp, they'd either break them in a year's time, or never bother to switch it on.
You give them a vase, they'd probably use it as a rubbish bin. LOL.
Unless he's a designer or metrosexual, just forget about this gift idea. :)

8. Colorful socks
OMG. If you want your bf to look like this (picture below), go ahead and buy him one. HAHA!
I know colorful socks look happy and cheerful but...hmmm...you know...they just don't go well with men. :)

9. Cheap watches
I always think that watches reflect a man's taste, identity and status. :)
So if you don't want your man to look cheap, get him a proper watch. I'm not asking you to get him a Tag Heuer or a Rolex, but something decent and nice. Once again, not something from the night market. :)

10. Fake goods
Fake LV bag, fake Nike running shoes, fake Mont Blanc wallets and pens - Don't even consider it!
How would you feel if your father or bf gives you a counterfeit LV bag?? Hmmmp?? Don't do the same to them. Give genuine gifts. :)

Lastly, I'd say, if you run out of ideas on what to give, give them something edible or usable in general. Personalized gifts are good for guys too. You won't go wrong with that. - Quote Melissa (My bestie) :)
